Intro to Sashiko: March 8th 6pm-8pm
Join us in our new studio as we explore the Japanese art of Sashiko. The word "sashiko" means little stab and was used to reinforce worn down garments and recycle used clothing into household objects. For this intro class, we will create a functional and beautiful piece that can be used as a pot holder, trivet, or wall hanging. This simple and contemplative craft is the perfect accompaniment for a cozy winter night. No previous sewing experience required. All materials will be provided. You will leave with your new pot holder and a sashiko toolkit so that you may continue to hone your craft at home.
